"dont ask me again" would be an amazing feature to ynow.. make it stop asking for updates

Suggestion

years ago i even made a fork to do a pull request with an implementation of this feature but then someone rejected cuz it dont fit the code looks style of qbittorrent... ynow.. isnt.. hard AT ALL to change a code style.

and just realized today that yall are still without this button XD.. such a simple feature that was already handed to yall but nobody wanna do it.

is like it is meant to be incovenient lol, a setting search feature would be nice too but i bet if someone made a pull req (if did not already) bet yall would reject it.

well, im not even complaining.. i just find it so funny that theres so many code updates to it always ask for update but theres literally almost no feature being added between these updates.

imagine having to update a program cuz someone made a whole release chaging the name of a variable nobody will see

Use case

making only useful updates is better

Extra info/examples/attachments

said all i wanna about the lack of features people asked many times but too much work on things nobody will care.

devs needs to remember users exist.

Duplicate of numerous requests for same or similar e.g. "skip this version" etc. (#11764)

Your Pull Request:

  • #20003

If you don't want qBittorrent to check for updates automatically & want to have more "manual" control over updates, how difficult is it to "uncheck" box below?

So why didn't you fix the code style in your PR?

i bet if someone made a pull req (if did not already) bet yall would reject it.

So the comments on code style in your PR were a prelude to its rejection, am i getting it right?

i just find it so funny that theres so many code updates to it always ask for update but theres literally almost no feature being added between these updates.

Someone doesn't read the changelog!

Not exactly duplicate. After reading the PR, OP is asking to disable the option you mentioned from the update dialog.

See https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues/7732#issuecomment-345614963 & I think I did come across a request for a "don't ask again" as per this ticket.....but can't be 100%/alot of tickets to search through.

Do you want to re-open? (I have no objections)

There's 2 options (quick search) that users seem to want from the pop-up prompt:

  1. "Skip this version"
  2. "don't ask again"

I remember there are a lot of issues for 1. but i can't find any for 2. IMO it's a reasonable request and it doesn't even need any new setting in the config file.

but i can't find any for 2.

I seem to recall one or two or maybe I'm mistaken & it was a comment made in the other tickets for option 1. like I pointed out previously, anyway......have no interest in scouring through the repo for it.

Will re-open & this should suffice.
