Peer, no change Progress

Open goranv2 opened this issue 1 year ago • 4 comments

qBittorrent & operating system versions

qBittorrent: 4.6.5. x64 Operating system: Windows 11 Enterprise 23H2 x64 Qt: 6.4.3. libtorrent-rasterbar: 1.2.19.0

What is the problem?

In more torrents no change Progress some peers, upload to peer 1GB and always 0.0%. In below picture torent size is 5.47Gb. I noticed this by chance, so I don't know if this happened in previous versions

I don't see anything strange in the highlighted sector of the screenshot. All peers that display a certain upload speed also display a certain amount of data uploaded to them. Forget it! You are about values in Progress column...

I'm not sure where this part of the information comes from, but if not directly from the peer itself, but from the tracker, then it is not updated so often (the peer will inform tracker about it at its next announcement, and you will receive it at your next announcement after that).

Peers just don't report the correct information about their download progress, this is usually practiced in "garbage" clients (xunlei, for example), don't pay attention.

It comes directly from the other client. I would believe it has something to do if the peer is connectable, like if the port forward is not properly set on the other client side, then qBittorrent and the other client don't exchange this information. Also, it might also be a reason that the other client uses a simple bittorrent client which simply doesn't report progress to other peers.

Exactly.
