qBittorrent taking forever to close at shutdown

qBittorrent & operating system versions

qBittorrent: 4.5.3 x64 OS: Win 11 Pro 22H2 (10.0.22621)

What is the problem?

My PC doesn't shut down because qBittorrent is not closing. After around 30 seconds the PC just logs out of user. I have some seeds active, but I think the latest version is causing the problem. Very annoying because of power usage.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Program must be running
  2. Shutting down PC

I have the same issue: exiting from qbt is very slow. Version 4.5.2 was already on the slow side but 4.5.3 got worse.

I only seed two Files.

Looks like it helped me as well. Had 20 torrents: 19 with 1 tracker and 1 torrent with 21 trackers.

Maybe this workaround is good for a person who has 20 torrents in his client. But if you have "more" the failure still exists. For mit it looks like v 4.5.3 does no proper send stop signals to the tracker. In v 4.5.2 i had no problems with it....

Someone somewhere suggested: Tools>Options>Adanved>max_concurrent_http_announces

Set that to 500 instead of 50.

qB still delays the shutdown a little, but Windows seems to shutdown now. I have 1k+ torrents.
