What is the problem

Searches across any search plugin return unexpected results as follows: A broad search such as "Lego Masters s02e04" returns results including "Lego Masters AU s02e04" and "Lego Masters US s02e04", whereas a specific search for Lego Masters us s02e04" returns a "no results" outcome. Another example includes a broad search for "Father Brown" returning results including "Father Brown s08", whereas a search for "Father Brown s08" returns a "no results" outcome.

This is true whether searching torrent names only or "everywhere". The outcome appears to be the same across search plugins.

Probably an issue on your end, it seems to be working just fine, at least on Windows:

Try updating your search plugins, and make sure you're typing the new search query in the search bar, not in the Filter search results... field.

Also, please post at least the most recent log file as well; it is also required, not just the config.

Here's the log (I removed logs of unrelated torrents)

• Yes, the searches do work as anticipated on my Windows PC, but I can't determine why they wouldn't work on Mac. It could be something on my end, but then I don't know what. Python 3 is installed to the latest version, and the search is somewhat working, although malfunctioning in an unexpected way.
• I recently downgraded (with a total drive reformat) from Big Sur back to Mojave, so I'm not sure if it could be some problem arising from that.
• I'm also attaching a screenshot showing how the results populated for a general search, but returned no result (the yellow triangle exclamation mark) for the specific search for results that appeared in the general search. You can see here that searches are being conducted in the search bar, not the filter bar.
• ETA: yeah, search plugins are all up-to-date - I tried removing them all and reinstalling, as well as trying a few different ones that aren't included by default, and trying them each one-by-one. My Windows PC and Mac are on the same network, and have the same settings (except for different random port selection, and "Coalesce reads & writes" which is enabled on the PC). again, this is a fresh install of the MacOS, QBT and Python 3.

• This ticket has been closed due to being "out-of-date", and thus either most likely resolved in recent versions or no longer applicable.

• If you experience the reported problem or similar in the latest version, please open a new issue report with the requested information in the issue template.

• A new issue report with relevant updated data gathered from the latest version is preferable to necroing an old report with a comment like "still happens in version x.y.z", even if you think the bug is the same, or suspect of a regression. Due to the changes made to the qBittorrent code and its dependencies over time, the exact cause of your problem could be totally different than the original one, despite the visible symptoms of the bug being similar. Thus, providing relevant updated information is crucial to find and fix the root cause of a recurrent problem or regression.
