Project maintenance, status and future

So despite my recent claim to the contrary, I've realized that I don't have time or dedication to actively maintain this project anymore – not the least of reasons for that is I don't use it day to day these days.

I believe it's in the interest of the project that I move on from it and someone else takes over.

@davidparsson you've been helping with the project for a while now, are you happy if I give you access to other properties like PyPI so you can move things forward if you have time and energy for that? If you want to invite someone else to help with it – up to you.

Oh, sorry, I've missed this entire issue for some reason, and found it just now by accident.

My time is also limited, but I am still an active user of this library and I would rather try to keep it alive than watch it die, so yes, I am willing to step up and accept taking over your role in this project @jstasiak. I would appreciate if you would still be open to discuss changes, but if not, I completely understand. My PyPI profile is david.parsson.

@davidparsson I'm currently busy acting as a resident maintainer for another python library, but would gladly contribute some features to this library in the near future, as a lot of the work there has already been covered. Please appoint me as a maintainer here once you get the permissions

As a last note for now, for your consideration: one thing I wanted to do for for a long time was to restructure the documentation following https://diataxis.fr/. Always a low priority 🤷‍♀️.
