In Safari, escape-dismissed search bar still receives input

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Go to the latest docs in Safari: https://pydata-sphinx-theme.readthedocs.io/en/latest/index.html
  2. Open the search dialog
  3. Press esc to close the dialog (note: you must close the dialog with a keyboard shortcut, not some other way)
  4. Type something on your keyboard like "foo"
  5. Open the search dialog again. Notice that the input field has text you typed while it was closed.
