Connected to Wifi with invalid Proxy shows the Internet Status to true

the Internet Status will be true even if I connected to a wifi with invalid Proxy. Is there expected? I reckon it should be false as the device could not access any Internet.

It should be false if device doesn't have access to the Internet. Can you provide more details about your case?

I am using Pixel running Android 7.1.2. I randomly configured a invalid proxy like 192.168.1.112.Then I tried to test it out.
