Specify timeframe for FTO authors

Open jywarren opened this issue 5 years ago • 10 comments

I LOVE seeing the recent FTO authors listed here!

However, we need to specify for what range of time this is displaying. Would anyone like to work on that? Is it a week?

I think 3-4 days , because most of the FTO issue can be solved easily if one contact with the mentors, contributors and because they are made to just overcome the fear of making PR. and help to make them easily.

@VladimirMikuli4_twitter what do you say

The logic of fetching FTO authors is present in examples/demo.js. DisplayIssuesAndFtoAuthors function is actually responsible for fetching (fto and candidate) issues for repos and that result is filtered to generate the list of FTO authors. As issues are fetched using the github-api-simple library with default params, it is more likely for a week (not 100% sure though).

Is anyone working on this issue? Or else I want to work on this.

Please go ahead, and if @eynglv wishes we can find a new one!

I had trouble with the API overloading (probably for general users)!

ah, that can definitely happen, unfortunately. We just need to wait a bit to try again! This is why we do so much caching locally.

This may also be relevant for other sub-sections!!! A dropdown with "past week" "past month" and more options would be amazing for any section of contributors OR issues!
