Every other menu entry is not shown after selecting and sliding over with mouse to next

It's difficult to explain in one sentence, but for example menu has four entries File | Edit | View | Settings. When I click on File and then mouse over to next menu option Edit is not shown, View is shown, Settings are not shown. To see Edit one have to explicitly click on Edit.

I'm having exactly the same problem since a system update this year. Thought it was a KDE bug, but then figured out it's this plasmoid's. KDE's appmenu does not have this issue.

I'm on archlinux.

I first noticed this on my old install of Arch Linux but only after enough time that I couldn't guess what the cause was. I've recently installed a fresh copy of Artix Linux and still experience the same issue.
