Is it possible to not have to 'upload' an iso or image through the GUI?

Is it possible to not have to 'upload' an iso or image through the GUI? This creates a temp file in /tmp that can fail if the image is larger than the free space on the root partition. In many other VM managers, there is a way to simply point to an image or iso where it is currently located.

I just saw Proxmox had an recent update and this issue is one of the main things keeping me from using it. Thank you.
