I would prefer to build this out as a feature of the website so that we can highlight contributions and also cross-reference with OpenCollective. Markdown as a format isn't really robust enough for building things like this.

I think this is largely addressed with the footer on our site, pulls a random user to thank from the list of all contributors across all repos in our org. Of course, we also have a few sponsor slots on the home page as well for OC donations.

As such, I'll close this on out.
