Desktop shown for several seconds after resuming from sleep | Oryx Pro (oryp5)
How did you upgrade to 20.04? (Fresh install / Upgrade)
Fresh Install
Related Application and/or Package Version (run apt policy $PACKAGE NAME):
Issue/Bug Description: On the Oryx Pro, Pop OS 20.04 shows the desktop for a few seconds before displaying the lock screen / password entry.
Steps to reproduce (if you know): Close lid on Oryx Pro, lift it to resume from sleep. (Power settings: Balanced, Hybrid Graphics)
Expected behavior: Expected behavior is to immediately see the lock screen. This could be a privacy / security / sensitivity issue for some people.
Other Notes:
I have also seen this happen on the Adder WS.
I haven't seen this on Intel graphics. Perhaps it's related to nvidia. @leviport is this easily reproducible. Does it occur with nouveau?
That looks about right, though the age of the bug is fascinating. Definitely happening here on Intel or with NV hybrid graphics enabled.
I know this was moved to done half a year ago but it's definitely happening to me with 22.04 LTS. Should I open a new bug?
It's better to reopen the old issue since it contains more context.
Great thanks. I'm on a galp5 if it matters.
- Close lid.
- Open lid to wake.
- Previously open windows appear for a second before login screen appears.
The same issue is happening to me also. After waking up my laptop (opening the lid). The desktop is show for 3-4 seconds with ALL my data on display before it locks.
