Add OSM reporting tools
Let the users submit their own speed limits. Make it so when on the experimental user submitted map option, clicking on velociraptor opens an input box for numbers.
Submissions could be on a color basis. Red for one submission, yellow for like 5. Black for 10+..it could record go's positions. Should potentially work very well
I think it's better to just contribute to OpenStreetMap, but yes, this can be automated in some way for easy submissions rather than having to use their website.
Open street maps is not easy to contribute to. Hassle means less people use it. Needs to be stupid easy lol. Kiss.
Come on man! We're waiting! I could be adding in hundreds of speed limits! Been driving a ton of different roads lately! Also with the exorbitant cost if here maps this would be a great cheap alternative v
I will be adding reporting tools in the app for OSM to make it easier, but no plans for another database yet.
Well that's unfortunate. I may have to look into making my own app then because yours rarely works these days. I had to switch to speed cameras and that app kinda sucks.
As I said, I will be adding easy selection of speed limit while driving that will change the OSM database. It will function exactly as you describe, just for OSM not my own database. Not sure why you insist I create my own.
Oh, you didn't make it clear with "reporting tools" for osm. I assumed you meant just some tools to report errors. If you are adding in an easy way to submit speeds to osm then that should be fine too. It's just your app rarely works any more and I'm not sure why paying here maps is anyone's alternative when the users would do it for free. I'll await an update with osm submission! Hopefully it solves the constant outages. Consider having an option to just use osm for us that way we can contribute and not cost you anything with here maps
So. I know this is answered. But it's been about a month. Any eta on when this is planned on being released?
You are too smart in Githug for me!!! I didn't understand what is happening. Sorry for this comment, but I read "Closed" and I was saying something different.
When there is no limits if I drive at 250Km/h Velociraptor says me "No beep! You are OK!" So I was saying you: "If I have multiple default limits (active when there is not limit) Velociraptor can do a beep if I change my speed and so it remember me.
Exemple: A+B+C 100 Km:
the first, A, 40 km, yes, there is central, B, no, there is not the last 40 km, C, yes, there is Probably in C (40 to 60) speed-limit is same of 40-1. If I'm going to 90 km/h (previous speed-limit in 40-1) and defaults limits (active only when there is not) are 50; 90; 130; Velociraptor beeps on 90, because I stopped before 130 and I have no beep in down speed (or a different beep)
Plus I said.
Beautiful gadget. Velociraptor saves on a specific log-file "C" (with GPS) so I remember there is no limit and I can upload OpenStreetMap when I'm at home.
For reporting, I was wondering if it's possible to take a picture in app of a speed limit sign, and use gps location and direction to get more accurate user input.
This week I was driving through Manitoba(not much reported yet), I finally see a speed limit sign and tried stopping a few times. I haven't figured out how to report speeds yet, mostly because everytime I try, it opens a webpage with a map of an area I don't really know. (And their data is slow AF) But I really like using the app since their sign coverage and placements are horrible whenever I have to drive through Manitoba. I would be happy to stop every now and then when I pass unreported signs and take a clear picture of them.
