i agree that it would be good to maintain support for a centos7 build, im just not sure that this build-image is the best way to do that

seems like a good idea to me - a quick search suggests it shouldnt be too hard to migrate medium -> jekyll i guess the main advantage of using medium...

i can pick this up as i have time
