Addon does not show up after install

Open SkelegonDK opened this issue 3 years ago • 6 comments

I'm on an M1 Max Mac running the Blender 3.1 beta on MacOS Monterrey. I downloaded the latest version and Installed it as per the documentation. The addon does not show up after restarting blender, nor in the Addon list in the preferences.

I've tried selecting a cube, pressing D 4 5 ( and other combinations ) but no menu shows up.

Usually installation fails with an error message, so I might need that to be able to troubleshoot it. I just tried Blender 3.1 on windows, it works fine, so must be a mac-specific issue. If you don't get any error message in Blender ui you could try launching Blender through console to see if it prints anything to console when you try to install the addon.

Alternatively you could try unzipping the archive, going directly to your blender installation folder to scripts/addons/ and putting your unzipped folder there, to see if you get any error message that way

Manually adding it to the scripts/addons/ folder worked fine, i just needed to check the quick menu box while installed.

Same issue here. Same config too actually (except I'm not running the beta).

Fixed it by just placing directly in scripts/addon folder thanks to @SkelegonDK suggestion.

You might want to just make a note about that in the installation page for Apple Silicon Macs.

@Mistermo8 you need the latest blender (4.1) because geometry nodes change between blender versions
