"no compile errors" but can't compile

Occasionally, dev will provide a status response of "no compile errors" but be unable to compile for some other reason. When this happens, the reason is listed in the status bar below instead of the error bar above, and the message is cut off.

I'm sorry, I don't know why gif is so stuttery.
