Displaying custom markers on the map

Open code4me-xx opened this issue 6 years ago • 3 comments

Hi,

I have a feature request to your great plugin. I think the possibility to use custom markers like the ones in 'google maps' instead of just circles would make the panel even better.

Icons could be added in the editor as outlines and filled with the threshold colors. Marker selection should be based on 'field mapping'.

Best regards Peter

Dear Peter,

thanks for writing in and for suggesting this feature. We see things like that very dearly coming to the Grafana Map Panel.

However, currently we are not able to dedicate ourselves to further deeply involved work on this plugin due to other obligations helping us pay our bills. Saying this, we will be happy to receive any support from the community to make this happen, both resource- and code-wise.

The recent activity you might have recognized within this repository was just for the sake of bookkeeping and to make it ready for future work on the codebase including speeding up the turnaround times for making release packages out of it.

We ask for your understanding and will be happy to take this feature request into consideration when working on the next round of iterations on the codebase.

With kind regards, Andreas.

For implementing this, we just stumbled upon Leaflet.BeautifyMarker.

We just also found Leaflet.SvgShapeMarkers.
