Customizable popup content

Open amotl opened this issue 4 years ago • 1 comments

Hi there,

this is a summary from different discussions about how to customize the popup content(s).

@pasquy73 asked at #28:

I would like to display in the popup, on the worldmap-panel, multiple attributes.

@matschaffer already took a spin at implementing it with #77, but we had to revert this patch (#89) because some users reported issues with it, see #90. However, it looks like this feature would make many people happy, like @DmitrySidorow, who reported at https://github.com/panodata/panodata-map-panel/issues/90#issuecomment-769871356:

Customizable popups would be a killer feature :smiley:.

Also, @loffa wrote at #93:

I would like to get the timestamp included in the popup. The best would be if the timestamp could also be formatted according to user preference.

Only recently, @tdeslage also chimed in at https://github.com/panodata/panodata-map-panel/issues/110#issuecomment-894043597:

I need to have multiple fields in my popup but not recurrent data.

With kind regards, Andreas.

Hi again,

I just digged up the contribution #107 submitted the other day. I believe using templating here would be a smart and sweet solution because it adds quite some flexibility to this subsystem.

What do you think?

With kind regards, Andreas.
