I assume that you encountered this error message while building under windows? Without any further explanation of what you did and what happend (i.e. all output not just this one line), it is hard to judge what the issue

What the error seems to indicate is that the makefile was not correctly written by cmake. So:

1. What was the output of cmake?
2. How do the contents of your build directory look like?
