Xfce4 panel "twitches" with ossia-score open
On Arch Linux with the Xfce4 (v4.18) desktop, parts of the Xfce panel twitch when ossia-score is open. I have ossia-score installed from the AUR repository. Just the twitching (shaking from side to side), no other problem.
very weird, thanks for the report! @thibaudk would you be able to look into this maybe?
Is it at any time, only when the window is maximized? Do you know if it also happens with other Qt apps ? (you can try for instance... LMMS, qtractor, Krita ?)
When maximised or not. I tried lmms and qtractor, no twitches. When Score is launching, the flash screen makes no flicker, only when the main window is open. Happens with new documents too. I just discovered what is triggering it, when the audio settings have "Alsa (through portaudio)" selected. I've not been using audio in Score so hadn't noticed. The other audio settings including Dummy stop the twitching.
hmmmm... I'm wondering if this is because score may try to access the soundcard exclusively, which would cause XFCE's sound volume widget disappear for a few milliseconds or something like that?
I think that's an excellent theory. When I move the PulseAudio icon to another position (i have pipewire-pulse installed), the twitching occurs on the icon itself and everything else to its left (as was the case in its original position). Merry Christmas!
