Option to hide layers selection

Is it possible to add an option to hide the SVG shapes (layer selection) from the map?

Sorry I don't understand. Which map? Do you mean hide the polygons at https://osmlab.github.io/editor-layer-index/ after selecting a source and it gets loaded?

The purpose of that page is to show which sources are available at a location and give a basic preview, since it's not intended to be a map layer browser I don't think that's something that needs to be done. That said I'm not against to a PR which adds it.
