Bug description
Services->Intrusion Detection->Administration->Download Tab The busy wheel on the Download&Update Rules button keeps on turning even after download is finished. Refreshing the page stops this behavior.
This is noticed after setting up a fresh install of version 24.7.1 can't remember if I ever saw this in previous versions.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Go to 'Services->Intrusion Detection->Administration->Download Tab'
- Click on 'Download&Update Rules button'
- Scroll down to '....': not needed
- See error busy wheels keeps on turning
Expected behavior
Show a notification that Download&Update Rules is finished and refresh screen.
Software version used and hardware type if relevant, e.g.:
OPNsense 24.7.1 (amd64).

The easiest option to gain traction is to close this ticket and open a new one using one of our templates.
There is something badly broken here, basically unable to make changes applied without reboot. Not just the issue described above, but also switching between IDS and IPS, disable / enable etc.
Spinning wheel, service not stopped / started...
Same here. After clicking the update button, it keeps on spinning. It also didn't update the ruleset for me.
After running in the console: /usr/local/opnsense/scripts/suricata/rule-updater.py
it updated the ruleset and showed it correctly in the webinterface. I now also created a scheduler and hope, that this one works in the background.
Fixing the button would help a lot, if you try to enable a new ruleset, which wasn't downloaded yet.
This issue has been automatically timed-out (after 180 days of inactivity).
