To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to 'Services->Intrusion Detection->Administration->Download Tab'
  2. Click on 'Download&Update Rules button'
  3. Scroll down to '....': not needed
  4. See error busy wheels keeps on turning

Expected behavior

Show a notification that Download&Update Rules is finished and refresh screen.

Software version used and hardware type if relevant, e.g.:

There is something badly broken here, basically unable to make changes applied without reboot. Not just the issue described above, but also switching between IDS and IPS, disable / enable etc.

Spinning wheel, service not stopped / started...

Same here. After clicking the update button, it keeps on spinning. It also didn't update the ruleset for me.

After running in the console: /usr/local/opnsense/scripts/suricata/rule-updater.py

it updated the ruleset and showed it correctly in the webinterface. I now also created a scheduler and hope, that this one works in the background.

Fixing the button would help a lot, if you try to enable a new ruleset, which wasn't downloaded yet.
