Vulnerability Details

In FasterXML jackson-databind before 2.14.0-rc1, resource exhaustion can occur because of a lack of a check in primitive value deserializers to avoid deep wrapper array nesting, when the UNWRAP_SINGLE_VALUE_ARRAYS feature is enabled. Additional fix version in 2.13.4.1 and 2.12.17.1

Looks like we need to wait for jackson-databind-2.14.0. ETA is end of October.

Note that both sql plugin and sql-jdbc driver need to be updated.

sql plugin must update after core (see opensearch-project/opensearch-build#2685 and opensearch-project/opensearch-build#2686)

JDBC driver can be updated as soon as a solution is available.

As per https://github.com/opensearch-project/OpenSearch/pull/4779, v 2.13.4.2 of jackson-databind resolves this CVE. I'll double-check and expect we will update sql plugin and jdbc driver shortly.
