Version incorrectly shown after stopped download

This is more a cosmetic issue but when a download is stopped, "20.09.16" is shown for some seconds before the actual version number is downloaded from the server. Is that value a placeholder? ;)

We use the value from etc/g.prop as a placeholder (since it is the most recent date that we can know without any internet connection). But indeed showing it for several seconds is not good. Probably we should also do a better job to cache some stuff.
