Show active filters as tags in or below the search input
Feature Request
Is your feature request related to a problem or unsupported use case? Please describe. The course search view combines filtering and full-text search, using autosuggestion to enable uses to add filters directly from the search bar. However, there is currently no such affordance to see what filters are active and remove them. Users need to scroll down and use the filter pane on the left to look for active filters and remove them.
Describe the solution you'd like We suggest adding tags (like pills or badges) with a "close" icon either inside or close to the search input, that show all the active filters and let users remove them. We could also combine this with a way to add non-currently suggested filters through the search bar.
Describe alternatives you've considered N/A
Discovery, Documentation, Adoption, Migration Strategy This is a common pattern that should ideally be self-evident when users add a filter through the search bar and immediately see the associated tag appear. We should take special care to look into how to make this accessible.
Do you want to work on it through a Pull Request? 👍
Note: this issue expands on the last bullet point in #376, which we can therefore close.
