Thanks for your interest in MMPose. I think the keypoints at the side of the body might be a little tricky since they are very close to neighboring ones, and the keypoints belonging to different nodes are homogenous (so it might not work well if you define them as different keypoints). Maybe each node (instead of the whole animal individual) can be considered as an instance with 4 keypoints?

I think you may have a try. labeling its outline is similar to face annotations.
