One sentence description:

Graph the rent of various apartment complexes in Austin over time.

Run scrapers every day for each apartment complex and record the prices for a 12 month lease.

Project Needs (dev/design/resources):

Development help needed. Also legal. Scraping is legit, right? E.g. The craiglist vs padmapper lawsuit.

I like this idea. Austin apartment prices change daily, so this would be super useful.

what do you think about scraping craigslist?

i know craigslist hates crawlers, but this would not be for finding listings, but for measuring affordability. prices per unit or bedroom aggregated by census tract, for example.

Looks like this project hasn't had any activity in over a year. I'm going to mark it as "abandoned and needs love" but feel free to reverse if anyone would like to pick this back up. <3
