Apparently, it contains control codes that are not allowed in XML 1.0. * https://www.w3.org/TR/xml/#charsets With XML 1.0, only 0x09 0x0A 0x0D is allowed in the C0 control code.

It looks fine as XML. When you get the error, I believe the error also appears in the browser's DevTools Console, so could you please provide that information?
