Export the frame number of annotated behavior
Dear Olivier,
I am starting to work with your software BORIS. It is amazing, thanks for making that publicly available!
I have one question. Is it possible to also export the number of the respective frames when the annotated behavior started/stopped? Because now it exports the timing in seconds etc., but I would prefer knowing the specific frame numbers from the onset and offset of a particular behavior.
Best wishes, Isa
Dear Isa,
it is not possible at the moment. To obtain the frame number you can multiply the time (always exported in seconds) by the frame rate (frame per second) of your video. Best regards o

Hi Olivier,
okay. In my case the video camera gives quite irregularly frame pulses and records a frame, which is why I would have preferred to work with the frame numbers. And in the observation mode you can already see them when scrolling through a video.
But then I will just back calculate the frame numbers.
Thank you, Isa
Hi Oliver, I also would like to have the option to export the frame number instead of seconds. Best!
Hi Oliver,
Thank you for the great program. I also would like the option for exporting the frame number. Especially since I am using 3 video cameras and they each have inconsistent frame rates. I have the timestamps for each frame in a separate excel, hence it would be great if I could export the frame number to do some post-hoc realignment. Will this be a feature in the future?
Regards, Gao
The frame index was added in recent versions of BORIS
