:lady_beetle: [BUG] cannot dismiss keyboard on contacts screen
Describe the bug It is not possible to leave the text editing window on a flip phone (edit: or dismiss the soft keyboard on a smartphone) without cancelling on the contact search bar. This does work on the normal search bar.
To Reproduce Click on the compose button, then the search bar. Type something into the window that pops up. Hitting done does not result in anything.
Expected behavior The window should close and the text should remain in the search bar. The results should be filtered according to the search text.
Smartphone (please complete the following information):
- Device: Kyocera KY-42C
- OS: Android 10
- App Version: master branch
Screenshots
Additional context Typing is slow on this screen, presumably due to the filter function running in the background. For devices like this, it may be worth running the filter function after submitting the text instead of on every change.
i've noticed some discrepancies between the search bars across the app as well. This is a good find, thank you.
Just realised this also means I can't type phone numbers in.
Using another keyboard, such as TT9, mitigates this. I'm not sure if this can be fixed, but it certainly is weird that behaviour is inconsistent with other search bars. Built-in Kyocera apps interface differently with the keyboard, as seen with sspanak/tt9#423. I'm thinking about closing this.
