disable "add contact permission" popup if already granted

Open secretmango opened this issue 2 years ago • 3 comments

DESCRIPTION

When I installed the app, it already had contact permissions. Also in the theoretical case of having it as preinstalled SMS app on Android custom ROMs, this would also be unnecessary.

STEPS

  1. Start app while contact permissions are already granted
  2. It asks for them still
  3. Restart the app

EXPECTED

Detect the already existing permissions and dont ask. Also detect if running as system app and then dont ask.

OBSERVATIONS

Dialog disappears after restart. Is is unclickable before though, so you cant remove it normally.

Latest Github release

Im not sure i follow. Does this happen in latest release?

It happened in the second latest release.

So when I installed it, I granted it the permissions throug the app information page of Android. So the permissions wherent needed anymore.

But the app insisted on asking for permissions the first time, which would be solved by invoking the dialog and clicking something I guess? But this app-internal dialog only seems to be builtin to be run the first time, so restarting it fixed it.

This may be an inconsistency though, and could also be a bug when installed as system app
