To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Install Google Camera, and deactivate/uninstall the stock camera.
- Open a chat with someone.
- Tap on the "+" button, bottom left corner of the screen
- Tap on "Take a photo"
Expected behavior The camera app open and let me take a photo.
Smartphone (please complete the following information):
- Device: Pixel 8a
- OS: Android 14, Custom ROM = CalyxOS 5.7.1
- App Version : 4.0.7
Screenshots
I have the same issue on my Pixel 7. I disabled the stock camera app and QUIK then basically says there's no camera.
I believe I've ran into this myself once or twice. Definitely sounds like deprecation of something in codebase. Will take a look soon-ish.
@octoshrimpy I think this happens because in the cameraIntent you first check for storage permission (WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) which has been deprecated since Android 12 and doesn't do anything now. When removing this check it works as expected.
pr https://github.com/octoshrimpy/quik/pull/240 should fix this issue and be in the next release
not closing until confirm solved
