I came up with Marknote as a working title, and I like it, but I want something better. More hip.

Some ideas:

  • mrkdwn
  • Markt
  • Down
  • Umm idk.

I'm usually good at this but I'm stuck on derivatives of Marknote.

NoteDown, not bad but it doesn't sound particularly elegant. I think I prefer MarkNote to NoteDown.

I also like:

Down (I could see the branding being just "down.") though it lacks differentiation in the marketplace so that's tough -- but it's possible (see Sketch, Mailbox, etc).

#note is cool, especially since # is the h1 tag in markdown. There's definitely some milage there, but I worry people won't know how to say it. "Hashnote? Note?"

Draft Punk is awesome, but we'd have to change the menu highlight to hot pink. ;)

Oh man, name the app Draft Punk and make everything neon. If we don't do it, there has to be a Draft Punk theme!

I like the idea of a Draft Punk theme, but the name could be something else. #note (#Note?) could be branded as "Pound Note" or, for those old school BASH guys, "Crunch Note".
