Spotify search issues

Open nukeop opened this issue 7 months ago • 9 comments

Known issue: Spotify search is broken. Something has changed on the API side, and we're investigating. Currently searches return 404. Artists and albums saved to favorites can be browsed normally.

I'm working on a permanent solution by using a different API.

FYI, A couple of days ago it was working perfectly on both my linux PC and windows tablet. But today it's broken. But the weirdest thing is this issue has been around since last month? What did I miss??

They might be rolling it out differently to users in different regions. I've got the new API workaround working on a feature branch. Should be out soon.

@nukeop Any idea when the new version with this workaround is going to be released? I really would like to be able to import Spotify playlists again.

I'm in the same boat. Can't play anything currently. I decided to check what's going on with this software and Spotube. Seems that both are dead currently.

I'm not planning to maintain this version anymore, so I will not be releasing a fix to this. I started a new project from scratch that will ultimately replace this version of Nuclear permanently, with a more robust plugin system. So if you want a Spotify integration, you'll be able to create and maintain a plugin yourself.

@nukeop Is this going to be a completely new project with a new name, or will it be something like a 2.0? (Or in Nuclear player's case a 1.0, as the current version is 0.6. ;) ) If a new name, can you already share what it's going to be called?

It's still going to be Nuclear, but this time I'll start from 1.0. I'll just replace the contents of this repo with the new one, which I'm developing here: https://github.com/NuclearPlayer/nuclear-xrd
