Can't play a playlist that has over 30 songs

Open southernpoint opened this issue 3 years ago • 4 comments

Platform: Windows 10 Version 21H1

Nuclear version: 2dd909

Description of the issue: Whenever I try playing a playlist that has more than 30 songs, the app suddenly goes empty in a way. Playing a playlist with less than 30 songs works though as shown in the video that I will send. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/570599293585457152/962319100904882266/2022-04-09_14-51-50.mp4

That sounds pretty specific, are you sure it's because it has more 30 songs?

Possibly related:

My main playback issue seems to be due to the fact that nuclear seems to want to lookup every song in a playlist that has just been added to the play queue at once. I find that for 20+ added tracks it can take 10's of minutes to resolve them. And it is obviously worse when you add 1400 tracks :-). This seems to completely saturate my (admittedly not brilliant) internet connection, to the annoyance of other local users; although it's not obvious to me why the combined lookups are so heavy). But there is no problem - apart from the tedious manual clickery and time waste - if I add in ones or twos.

A limit on the number of simultaneous lookups would seem to be essential. And then it could at least start playing the tracks as it finds them.

Further, even if I trim the queue, and wait long enough, so as to get sufficient results to make it worth playing, nuclear seems never to remember any of this hard-won information (even saving the queue as a new playlist does not help), so the whole process has to be repeated for the next listen.

NB: here the playlist here is a simple artist+track json, with no file locations or urls, so lookups need to take place in order to play (e.g. from utub).

Yep I have this same problem for my main playlist of ~400 songs. nuclear tries to load everything and ends up with >50% CPU usage, as well as slowing down my network.

Same here, when you try to load more than say 50 songs at once, Nuclear goes nuclear :D - it tries to pre-load them all....I think this is a major issue.

The tracks will now load one by one.
