My guess is because you are contacting hosts there? I'm not sure. Which VPN protocols are you using, primarily? BTW, if you don't need Google specifically, you may be better...

@Ronaldkornblow: Why do you think it happened during Streisand setup rather than use? Total Streisand usage during setup is 900-950MB; your table shows 7G to EMEA.
