Flash/Bounce Icon - New Notification
Hello! I've installed the new version 0.30.0 looking for the " Flash or bounce icon on a new notification #388 " but it looks doesnt work! I'm using a Windows 11 Pro. I've tested in a few PCs and isnt work in all of them.
Does exactly "flash or bounce icon" doesn't work for you when you receive a new notification?
Or you don't have a notification completely on Talk Desktop while you have it on other devices?
Actually the notifications sometimes appear, sometimes not.
Notifications normaly is so late to deliver... By the app/mobile we receive notifications almost instantly, but in the Nexcloud Talk Desktop it take 10-20 seconds. (everything in a local server).
Ps: In the trayicon there isn't notification, right?
I have testet flash notification on friday too. Flash of icon only works if window is minimized and stops on Win11 after a few seconds. Than the icon is steady orange background and a dot badge is shown.
But is also saw the many notifications are missed on talk-desktop wenn its minimized. They appear late or only of talk window is brought in focus again. Same on my setup on mobile devices notification is almost instantly.
I have tested the icon flash on Win10 this moment, i did not get the icon to flash.
I don't see any icon changes in task bar or system tray. I am using windows 11 latest stable channel on a surface pro 8. I minimize the Talk window. And wait a few minutes, not long.
In the latest release v0.31.0 - Talk 19.0.4, the icon in task bar will flash red when new message arrives, if the talk window is not the active window, but no changes in the system tray icon, whether I leave the talk window open or minimized or closed. could you please also add it to system tray? @ShGKme
Can't get it to work too. Nextcloud 30.0.0, Talk 20.0.0 and desktop app 0.38.0 Also i have notify_push. Taskbar icon doesn't change, however an * symbol is added to the window title (visible if taskbar caption are on). And tray icon change is a must have.
It is also very important to me that the icon in the notification panel displays the presence or number of new messages.

It's intended. A notification should not open a window without a user action.
