Submit forms submissions direct to external email addresses
- Nextcloud-Version: 27.1.3
- Forms-Version: 3.4.2
I would like to be able to submit the forms responses direct to a few different email addresses that are external to my nextcloud instance. It wouldn't require any special formatting, just text of:
Mail title: FormName - day - date (or configurable)
QuestionName - answer
QuestionName2 - answer2 etc.
@llambkin So you mean neither the form owner nor the participant? I don't think that we will add this feature anytime soon.
Yeah sort of.
The flow would go something like this:
- user receives form and fills it out,
- after submission, the form including its results is sent through Nextcloud's SMTP configured by the administration settings menu to the email addresses set in the settings tab under each form.
I'd be happy with automatically delivering a CSV or PDF with the results to a user's folder after submission. As long as I can choose a list of users the submission goes to.
Our use case is for venue end of night reports. The venue manager submits the form containing figures, how the night went and private company data, and the results get sent through to the area managers and CEO's via email. But if I can get it dumped as a file into Nextcloud, that would do also.
We used to use Google Forms, but the CEO changed from Google to Microsoft, and their Forms look great, but the results cannot be directly sent to email accounts within the same business. I have to create "flows", which makes me write any form out twice for any new venue that gets added to the system.
Ok in this case: you can already share the results of a form with other users of your Nextcloud. There's also work in progress on a feature to link a file in your cloud that gets updated on every submission. If you don't mind I would like to close this issue with the possibilities mentioned before :)
