Ability To Pause Recording
The ability to pause/resume the recording would be a fantastic solution to this. Also, I second the idea of bundling ffmpeg or any other dependencies with the app. Such a valuable, nifty app. Gets the job done. Kudos to everyone contributing on this project.

I believe there a better open-source option for screen recording now. For example, Obs Studio can do screen/window recording, and now on macOS they make use of ScreenCaptureKit APIs to do it well.
Hey @njokusomto, thanks for your kind words and for your feedback. This app is not actively maintained anymore due to limited bandwidth. It's quite tricky to find a new maintainer as well. I really like the idea of a pause/resume feature and we should absolutely bundle ffmpeg for easier installation. Realistically I won't find the time to make these changes, though. So if no one can be found to take over this task, I will unfortunately have to archive this repository.
@cmangla, I've updated the README.md and created an issue here: https://github.com/mre/timelapse/issues/59. Let's see if anyone responds.
The repository is certainly dated by now and I'd love if someone could fix issues or maybe even rewrite it. Personally, I'd use Swift and whatever APIs Apple provides for the rewrite.
I would have archived the project a long time ago, but unfortunately there's still no other open source timelapse tool fro macOS. The best working alternative that I know of is https://gohustl.co.
I can understand your position on this @cmangla but I agree with @mre. It took me tons of Google searches to find this one particular tool that does what it should - simply create timelapse videos. The other alternatives were bogus, misleading and unnecessarily complex.
I'm praying open source comes to the rescue. lol This is such a good project.
@mre gonna take a look at Go Hustl. Never heard of that one.
If I may ask, what operating system version are you on? We got some issues with Ventura #57 and Mojave #48. If you use any of these, updating the issues would move the conversation forward and provide an additional data point. 😅
I'm currently on macOS Catalina, Version 10.15.7. App currently works like a charm.
Okay, thanks for the feedback. Seems like there are issues with newer versions, especially Ventura. Just as a heads-up. 😉
