Ambilight works only without hw acceleration (surface) - videos stuttering!

First at all thanks @mpolednik for the awesome work!

I'm using the script kodi.hue.ambilight on the raspberry pi and the fire tv stick 4k (both fresh install). The addon doesn't work - it works only by deactivating hardware acceleration (surface)

But by deactivating the videos begins to stutter!

Is there a solution for this to fix?

Any news on this? Ambilight would be really great, but in this state the plugin doesn't make any sense...

unfortunately I think that workaround works only if you're using SPMC, which is a modified version of Kodi :(
