The back handler exits the app instead of back navigating on Android 16

Steps to reproduce

  1. Navigate to a website.
  2. Click a link.
  3. Use the system navigation back button/gesture.

Expected behaviour

  • The page should navigate back to the first one.

Actual behaviour

  • The entire app is dismissed as if it was the the only tab and last page to navigate to.

Device information

  • Android device: Pixel 8a, Android 16 in particular.
  • Reference Browser version: Current as of filing.
