Browser crash after clicking lockbox icon on new tab page

Using Firefox 66, the extension crashes.

Steps to reproduce:

1. open about:debugging
2. click "Load Temporary Add-on" button and select built addon from /addons directory in repo
3. Open new tab and quickly click lockbox icon in toolbar

At this point the browser will crash and lockbox will be uninstalled on restart.

OS: Windows 10 git branch: master Firefox Version: Nightly 66.0a1 (2019-01-10) (64-bit)

Additional Info: I had created one entry in the management page and opened and closed the dropdown 1 time before this started happening.

This may have something to do with trying to fetch tab info before the new tab is ready, which may indicate that this is a more serious upstream bug with webextensions.

FWIW, I aggressively tried to open new tabs and hit the browser action on Mac OS / Firefox Nightly and wasn't able to reproduce a crash.

@meandavejustice Your crash report indicates you have a bunch of addons installed. I'd try running the addon via npm run run -f nightly instead of manually installing into about:debugging. The npm run script will use a fresh profile, which rules out other addons doing strange things. See if you can repro the error under those conditions.

I have managed to reproduce this issue when trying to install the Lockbox extension on the latest Firefox 66.0.3 release. In order to reproduce this issue please follow the next steps:

[Affected Versions]:

• Lockbox 2.1.0-alpha
• Firefox 66 release

[Affected Platforms]

• All Windows
• All Mac
• All Linux

[Perquisites]

• Have the latest Firefox 66.0.2 installed.
• Have a Firefox profile with the "xpinstall.signatures.dev-root" pref created and set to "true".

[Steps to reproduce]:

1. Open the Firefox browser with the profile from prerequisites.
2. Navigate to "about:addons" page.
3. Drag and drop the Lockbox signed xpi.
4. Observe the behavior.

[Expected results]:

• The extension is successfully installed.

[Actual results]:

• The browser crashes.

[Notes]:

• The issue is not reproducible on latest Beta 67.0b12 and latest Nightly 68.0a1 builds.
• The issue is reproducible on Firefox versions older than 66.
