Abscissa label isn't displayed properly

This is a copy of one point from #68

The abscissa label is cut in half (only top part is visible). Proposal: Don't cut it in half 😅

I first thought this is an issue on macOS only, but I'm also seeing this on Windows 10. I believe this is a rather substantial usability problem:
