Add more handholding to the Splunk GUI

We need to:

• [x] Give errors in a more useful format. Direct users to which fields could probably be most useful/ likely to be causing the error.
• [x] Remind the user to turn on CORS if network fails, with link to appropriate splunk documentation pages.
• [ ] Use pictures!
