Can't join localhost address- java-netsocketexception - looking for help to fix the issue.

I have downloaded the newest version and tried out older versions as well, but none of them work. I tried out different servers as well. XThe localhost server does change it's logo to the corresponding server that I typed in the programm after I click start. When I try to join the localhost, I get this error. Please help Failed to connect to the server Internal Exception: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset

Version

  • Game: Minecraft 1.19.4
  • Forge moded, but mostly client mods
  • Downloader: latest
  • jar version

The server may be using Viaversion , does the server accept connections from any version of minecraft? You may need to find the server main version and use a vanilla client (not modded)
