.NET 6 upgrade

Hello Jim, I am trying to use this in 2024, and failing. I tried upgrading the dependencies to .net 8.0 to no avail. I'm not a .NET programmer.

I would appreciate it, if you can take a shot at upgrading the application to use more recent versions of .net.
