Description

iCademics is an AI-driven launchpad for academic success that leverages Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) to provide personalized learning experiences for tertiary education students. Our app features an AI-driven Q&A system that allows students to chat with their course and get answers to questions based on their course work, the internet or both.

This project was originally inspired by the azure-search-openai-demo in June, 2024 and has been highly adapted to suit the needs in addressing these problems for Students, especially Tertiary Education Students in Nigeria;

• Difficulty in finding specific answers to questions in course materials, leading to confusion and frustration.
• Difficulty in managing and assimilating large amounts of course materials, often with limited time before exams.

What data sources did you use?

We utilize a diverse range of academic resources that is solely uploaded by the user to give them answers. These materials are uploaded, vectorized and stored in Azure Blob Storage.

Did you make additional modifications to the data ingestion or prompting flows?

Yes, we implemented:

• A custom data ingestion pipeline to efficiently process and index various types of user uploaded content using Azure Document Intelligence
