Vue 2.x i18n alternatives

I am a couple weeks into migrating a large meteor/blaze app slowly (incrementally) to vue. I found akryum:vue-i18n package, but then realized it won't work in vue 2.x. So is there a recommended approach here? Our blaze implementation makes use of tap:i18n. Can anyone suggest an alternative, workaround or a good hack? If the akyrum package is updated in the next month or so, that would work too! Thanks!
