At some point a few weeks ago, the Google Voice service stopped working. It won't display any messages. I tried removing it and adding it back, but then I can't load it at all. It says
Google Couldn't sign you in This browser or app may not be secure.
Try using a different browser. If you’re already using a supported browser, you can refresh your screen and try again to sign in.
Anyone else having this issue?
Can confirm this issue. I was able to partially restore service by altering the user agent string in the google voice recipe index.js file. The service now loads, but claims that my browser is not compatible with making or receiving calls. VM playback, audio options, and other related stuff seems to work as expected. but not voice calls.
To change the useragent, I'm appending the line:
module.exports = Franz => class useragent extends Franz { overrideUserAgent() { return "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/42.0.2311.135 Safari/537.36 Edge/12.10136"; } };
to index.js which is located in recipes/ex-google-voice/
Interestingly, at the same time this happened, the Hangouts module seems to have also lost the ability to make voice calls. The phone tab fails to load, while other messaging functions seem to operate as normal.
