Plugin should just ignore pressing without alert if I'm already on definition. Maybe only with notification in status or message to console, but it's not necessary.

Also please do something for touch devices. On iPad I can't add sub document because can't hover. Long tap or something similar would help

I recognise that right now we have nice solution and don't need some custom menu on the right click. It's not friendly for touch devices and just gives additional hidden...

Large documents lags about 500ms for each char. I hope that react 18 at least partially can improve that I can help you to fix a lot of react render...
